In honor of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share seven romantic things to do in Paris. I have been traveling to Paris for over twenty years, and most of the time, I was single. You don’t have to be in a relationship to enjoy the city. Self-love is the most important thing.
Stroll The Seine and the Bridges
A simple walk in Paris can be very romantic, especially if you unplug and put away your phone and maps. Start at the Seine before sunrise or sunset and cross over the bridges.
One of my favorites is the Pont des Arts bridge, which connects the Right and Left Banks across from The Tuileries. It offers a great view of Place Dauphine and Îl de la Cité.
Pont Alexandre III is beautiful at any time of day, but I especially love it at sunset in the early evening.
Dress Up
Dressing up is an instant mood booster! I love the Parisian style and how a few simple pieces can make a woman look pulled together. A black dress can be styled in multiple ways and worn in any season. Perfect for date nights and solo evenings for dinner.
Dinner in Paris: Three favorite solo dinner spots in Paris:
Localino is an Italian restaurant near the Odeon metro station. It serves delicious fresh pasta and offers a seasonal menu that changes daily. Reservations are recommended.
Bistro des Tournelles in the Marais will seat you at the small bar in the front. This is great for people-watching or conversing with a solo neighbor.
Bistro des Lettres is a new spot on Boulevard St Germain offering a spin on French classics. The restaurant already has a loyal following, and reservations are recommended. What I love about this spot is that diners are encouraged to write a letter to remember their meal, trip, or experience. One year later, the letter arrives at their home. A lot can happen in a year.
Visit the Love Wall in Montmartre
The Love Wall is located in Montmartre, in a park just off the Abbesses metro line. It is free to the public and features “I Love You” in over 300 languages. You can search for your native language and other favorites on the wall.
Stroll through Montmartre, an iconic Parisian neighborhood, and get lost in its windy, narrow streets. Find where to eat, drink, and explore.
Enjoy a Spa Treatment
Indulge in a spa treatment for a massage or facial for an afternoon. Several hotels in Paris now offer spas with a variety of treatment options.
Biologique Recherche has a cult following for its beauty products. Book a facial here, and you'll leave with glowy skin and a few French skincare souvenirs to take home. They have two locations, but I have only visited one by Luxembourg Gardens. It's perfect for jet lag skin.
I love the Codage Spa at both Pavillon de la Reine and Pavillon Faubourg St. Germain for massages.
Hotel Hana offers Japanese-inspired treatments and pool access. I enjoyed their Detox massage.
Experience a Photo Shoot in Paris
Photos are the best souvenirs, and as a photographer, I am biased. Book a photo session in Paris to celebrate love. Document your Paris trip as a solo traveler, family, best friend, or couple. I use Katie Donnelly Photography.
Romantic Hotel Cocktail Bars in Paris
The Ritz Paris Hemmingway Bar is always on the list for cocktails in Paris. However, for an intimate cocktail, I prefer Le Meurice. Both locations are nearby, and you will pay around the same amount.
Le Tout Paris at Cheval Blanc offers cocktails with a view of Paris. This view is awe-inspiring at sunset.
Love all your suggestions!!!!!
Great suggestions - esp your reminder right at the top that the most important relationship you have is the one with yourself. Paris is romantic for everyone!
