Books I Preordered This Year
I feel like this could be a continuing series. Initially, I drafted a list of upcoming books in last week’s links. I thought it would be a great addition to this post. These are the books I'm excited about and have preordered. When you preorder a book, it helps publishers and authors gauge the demand. This is used in a formula to determine the quantity to order in a print run.
If you watched the show Younger at any point in the seven-season series, you know the presale is very important!
The Parisian Chapter by Janet Skeslien Charles
The Parisian Chapter is currently available for preorder on Audiobook. I preordered a copy, and Janet was kind enough to send me an advanced copy. The book was a great extension with a continuation of the story and characters and takes place at The American Library in Paris. I didn’t want it to end. Lily’s relationship with Odile reminded me of the one I had with my grandmother.
This is the third book in the literary series. You can enjoy The Parisian Chapter thoroughly on its own, or enjoy The Paris Library and Miss Morgan’s Book Brigade as well with the characters intertwined through each story. The Paris Library is one of my favorites and got me out of a reading rut in 2020. I had the pleasure of connecting with Janet Skeslien Charles, and I am proud to call her a friend and book mentor.
Release Date May 27, 2025.
Ready for Dessert, Revised : My Best Recipes by David Lebovitz
I have been following David Lebovitz for years on Instagram and through his newsletter. (paying Substack member) He has helped me discover so many wonderful places in Paris I wouldn’t have known without his guidance. I have run into him a few times as we have mutual friends, but we don’t officially know each other. Drinking French was released in 2020 and I enjoyed David’s videos on Facebook/Instagram during Lockdown. I am looking forward to this newest book. The hints at recipes he has shared in his newsletter for Ready for Dessert had me hit the preorder button fast. I hope it does the same for you.
Release date September 30, 2025.
Eaters Guide to Paris by Lindsey Tramuta
Lindsey Tramuta has been a resource for Paris food and drink for years. I have enjoyed following her and learning new discoveries to add to my Paris must try list. She introduced me to Kubri, one of my go to favorite spots in Paris for lunch.
You may know Lindsey from her two other best selling books, The New Paris, and The New Parisienne: The Women and Ideas Shaping Paris. Plus, don’t miss her popular Substack. This book is a perfect gift for Francophiles planning their next trip to Paris. Release Date April 29, 2025.
Something Delicious: 100 Recipes for Everyday Cooking by Lindsey Eats
I discovered Lindsey Eats on Instagram about a year ago. Her recipes are easy to follow and she makes great videos. Anytime I see a new video or recipe pop up, I can’t wait to try it. Recently, when I went to her website to grab a recipe I saw she had a cookbook coming out. I know how important presale is and I wanted to support her and placed an order. September 30, 2025 release date.
The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau: Kristin Harmel
Kristin Harmel is one of my favorite authors. I have read several of her books about WWII set in France. I am looking forward to reading The Secret Life of Colette Marceau and discovering the mystery behind the stolen bracelet and the truth of what happened to Colette’s sister during the war. Release date June 25, 2025.
Some favorites include, The Winemaker’s Wife, The Paris Daughter, and The Book of Lost Names.
Dorie’s Anytime Cakes: Dorie Greenspan
My aunt originally introduced me to Dorie Greenspan’s cookbooks with World Peace Cookies years ago. Now I am a huge fan of Dorie. Her Vanilla Sablés are a family staple and I upgraded them with sprinkles which we call Auntie Cookies. Dorie’s love for her grandkids is just the sweetest. She shares some of their baking adventures together on Substack.
I have been a paid subscriber to Dorie’s Substack and can’t wait to enjoy her newest cookbook Dorie’s Anytime Cakes in October.
Release date October 21, 2025.
