It has been a great birthday weekend, celebrating with my husband and Henri. Typically, I have celebrated in Paris. This year, I wanted to be home with Henri and enjoy the weekend without traveling. It is also Passover this weekend, and being home makes it a little easier. My sister, mom, niece, and nephew arrive tomorrow—an added family bonus!

For my husband’s birthday, I got him a few small things. We are planning a trip this summer, and that will be our joint birthday present. This shirt from Octobre, his favorite after shave lotion (it smells so good), and I framed one of his mom’s recipes for our kitchen. We went through and digitized her recipe box on an earlier trip this year, and this is one of his favorite recipes. I love that it is handwritten and has a touch of her in our kitchen.

Speaking of books, there are many great ones to preorder. I am a huge fan of Lindsay Eats recipes and saw on her site she has a cookbook coming out. (yes, and preordered!) David Lebovitz dessert book looks so good, Dorie Greenspan (HUGE fan of everything she does) and Lindsey Traumuta wrote a food guide to Paris with Eater. Plus, Kristen Harmel has a new book coming out and I love everything she does. The long list that is coming to my doorstep. Preordering books is so important and helps support the authors we LOVE.
