The Best Gift You Can Give is Time
Mother's Day Gift Ideas
I have many thoughts on the idea of Mother’s Day.
There should 100% be more than one day a year to celebrate all types of moms. Maybe once a quarter?
A handwritten card goes a long way and something she will treasure. I know, I always do.
Mother’s Day is for mom, the caretakers, step-moms, grandparents, single moms, the single dad, aunties and dog/cat moms. If I am leaving someone out, please remind me as brain fog sets in.
This holiday is hard for those who have lost their mothers at any age, lost children, or don’t have a good relationship with their mothers. Give yourself and others grace on this holiday.
The Best Gift of All is Time
My love language is special time. When my sister and I were younger, our mom would make time for just one-on-one. We had nights out or an early breakfast before school. It was a fun way to bond and feel extra special.
The best gift you can give a mother is also the most underrated, and it costs nothing. Time.
Think about what that actually looks like: taking something completely off her plate. Dinner, for example, is handled from start to finish, whether that means cooking or ordering, and cleaning up afterward. No delegating, no asking what she wants. Just done. Take the kids for a few hours, so she has the house to herself. Tackle the mental load items she never gets a break from, such as grocery shopping, running errands, and scheduling.
Beyond that, give her the gift of uninterrupted time. Time for self-care and the small rituals she never quite gets to: a favorite beauty mask, a long walk with the dog, time in the garden, or an afternoon with a book she has been wanting to read. A weekend nap, a long phone call with a friend, an afternoon out with the people she loves, away from screens and schedules.
Gift Ideas from Cuyana
Cuyana has been a favorite brand of mine for years. I recently purchased the passport wallet for my trip to Paris. The only regret I have is not monogramming it. I wanted it quickly, so I skipped this personal feature. A few pieces you can monogram for mom, these beauty travel bags, a tote for errands, and more. Their system tote with inserts helps keep everything organized, and I love the laptop sleeve for taking work on the go.
Mother’s Day Gift Ideas for the Francophile
Paris Every Day is a coffee table book that takes you through the seasons in Paris. From the start of blossom season in Paris, rainy evenings, and autumn colored leaves in the Tuileries.
Clare V is always a brand that the Everyday Parisian community loves. The Grande Fanny is $395 and comes in a variety of colors. My neighbor across the street raves about Clare V and says it is one of her favorite Mother’s Day gifts ever.
I love this Frame Ritz hat and have it in both navy and green. I lost the green one and replaced it. I ended up getting the blue one, and I'm happy I got it in both colors, for the mom who loves The Ritz and Paris. This hat is a splurge gift she may not buy herself.
Give Mom The Gift of Rest
Boll and Branch sheets are a splurge, but also worth the investment. We have had our sheets for years, and they get softer every time we wash them. I love a good all-white bed, but they also have some fun colors and prints. Can’t make the big investment? Start with the waffle blanket as a layering piece, then slowly add pieces. They typically have a code floating around somewhere. Currently, preview gets you 15% off.
For the coffee lover who loves a great mug. My heart mug is back in stock!
I Love A Good Pajama Set
Along with the gift of rest, I love a good pajama set. (the set I am wearing above)It was the first gift my husband gave me when we were dating and while they are starting to fade, I still have them and wear them! On Mother’s Day, aside from dinner being covered from start to finish, I would love a good Sunday nap with Henri and a cup of coffee snuggled in bed.
For favorite pajamas, LAKE is a great option and you can now get them monogrammed.
Eberjay is a new favorite and Negative Underwear makes the cute set I am wearing here. My brother in law got the same set for my sister without me knowing. We can twin! Top pullover with buttons and then the pants.
Gift a Photograph
I always love Framebridge for framing photos in our home and gifts. (see photos above also framed by Framebridge) Last year, I framed a recipe of my mother in law for my husband. We used the Mercer slim and they were able to keep it open on the back with the glass protecting the recipe. It was a sweet way to bring her into her kitchen with her handwriting and one of my husband’s favorite recipes of hers. This is a creative way if you don’t want to frame a photo.
My friend Tam surprised me one year and framed a photo that I text her from a trip. It sits in our tv room and makes me smile every time I see it. The perfect gift. The photo would have sat on my phone unprinted. She brought it to life! This silver frame is beautiful for small prints and black and whites. It would be perfect for a wedding photo or baby print.
I am still waiting to get Henri’s paw print framed. His photo sits on my desk a gift from my husband when he was still a puppy.
For The On The Go Mom
I recently received this tote from Alex Mill as a gift and love it! You can monogram it, too. It comes in a variety of sizes and colors. Not enough time to have it monogrammed? Get a gift card and let her choose!
Skincare Splurge for Mom
For the mom who has everything, if you want to splurge, I love Vintner’s Daughter cleanser, serum, and essence. From my own personal experience for maximium results, you need all three.
Tata Harper is on sale at Credo right now. A splurge but more budget friendly with the 20% off discount. I love this oil cleanser and resurfacing mask. Everything she makes smells so good!
Flamingo Estates is a splurge gift that I have loved receiving. Friends sent us a huge box as a thank you and I have not forgotten this gesture. This Heirloom Tomato candle smells incredible and sits in our kitchen. I burn it every chance I get.

Love the framed recipe card idea! So thoughtful! <3
FYI…You can arrange to send your passport holder/wallet back to Cuyana to have it monogrammed ! When I ordered the 2 piece pouch set, I made the mistake of only having 1 piece monogrammed. I inquired and they gave me instructions to return it for monogramming.
