travel, art fair, and what is next

June was one for the books! My husband and I had some milestone celebratory family events happen in early June. Art Fair was the second week of June, and it was a full-on production. From an early-morning setup to two full, sunny days in Chicago. For those of you who stopped by with hugs, brownies, smiles, and more, I am so grateful to each and every one of you.

In the middle of all of it, Henri got his first French scarf, a Sézane piece to match his mom. He is less enthused about summer heat than I am and has been keeping cool at home.

And if that wasn’t enough, we have been living under a cloud of dust and chaos. Home projects have been piling up all month. Just as one finishes, another one starts. I still have ideas to retile our bathroom, but I may need to wait a minute. June was a lot, in the best and most exhausting way.

I am not sure how I squeezed in Paris, but I did. Heat wave and all, and some great meetings. Details coming soon on the news when I can share it.

One thing I've learned running a small business: I never wait for things to happen. I work toward a goal, keep learning, and keep growing. I create the magic.

After Paris, I unpacked and repacked for a totally different time zone and climate. California was 50 degrees, half of Paris. It felt like weather whiplash and jet lag at the same time. I was lucky to have great company in Sausalito. My friends Melissa and Paula filled the days with endless conversation over coffee and ideas that challenged me. I left feeling inspired with homework to help me grow.

What I Loved The Most This Month

I had a lot of great skincare discoveries and beauty empties.

Irene Forte continues to be one of my favorite lines. For night cream, I love this one and ended up ordering a second one because mine ran out. The oil I used underneath at night also ran out, and this is a reminder to place an order, as I am missing it and the heavenly scent. *It is on preorder until July.

The Dermalogica Vitamin C with SPF 50 is a product I love and have used for over a year. It has a citrus scent and is thicker than some of the other vitamin C serums, which I like for my dry skin.

I have been eyeing these pouches from Cuyana for so long and ordered them for my summer travels.

A clean house is the way to my heart. I discovered these Koala products from Australia, and they smell so good. The dish soap, laundry soap, and kitchen counter spray are all staples.

Gerard Darel is a new-to-me French brand that has been around for years. I am loving their 12H bag, a smaller version of their 24H, which they are famous for. While in Paris, I stopped into their store and loved so many things.

A Summer of Rest: Part 2

What is next? A summer of rest. I am working on my summer bucket list and going with the same theme as last year. Partly, because I am still working on quieting my mind.

The blog celebrates 10 years! July 7.

This is what is replaying over in my head: what worked, what didn’t, lessons learned, what I would do differently. Would I do it all over again? The answer is yes. More reflections on 10 years coming soon. July kicks off a lot of family time under the sun, in a place I have never been before. Any guesses?
