We are working remotely in Cape Ann this week while we visit family and friends. Henri drove up with us and is soaking up his East Coast vacation on the beach. My husband and I brought a lot of our favorite things from home to make our beach rental feel a bit more familiar. I will share the list of items, including our waffle blanket and pillows for the bed, as well as my Matcha setup.
Yes, I packed my own slippers from home!
Don’t miss this week’s Links I Love. There are so many great articles, including a simple rule to break boredom, the new French shoe trend for fall, an Away bag I am obsessed with for travel, and more.
Do you have a different persona on vacation?
At home, I love having a clean kitchen, a freshly made bed, and a tidy home. A clean and organized home allows me to think more clearly. When things are cluttered around me, that is a reflection of my brain. My morning routine involves emptying the dishwasher, watering the plants, and taking Henri for a walk. I am a creature of habit, and I love it.
My husband, on the other hand, is completely different and is totally ok with doing the dishes once a day and letting things pile up.
But on Vacation… We are the Opposite!!
The minute we arrived at our rental property and unloaded the car, my husband set up his workspace on the kitchen table. Everything was lined up and organized, ready to go to work on Monday morning.
The shoes by the front door, are all organized and arranged in a line… A task taken on by my husband. He also makes sure the kitchen, trash, and dishes are tidy.
On vacation, I am messy. My ADD brain is scattered, nothing has a place, and I don’t even try to make it all make sense. For now, all I can do is embrace the chaos and know it will all fall back into place next week when I am home.
Is anyone else like this?
We are off to enjoy our Sunday on the beach with a doughnut and coffee from a local spot.
Dog of the Day
Love his lobster collar! He is ready for summer in New England!
