Weekend Reading #3
Upcoming book events and a special invitation in Paris.
This week was productive and busy! We had a little unexpected winter weather which kept me on my toes.
I also ended up cleaning out part of my closet and donated a few bags of sweaters and coats. Henri was always close by with moral support. We recently recieved this Ritz Frame blanket as a gift from the brand and I added it to our bed.
I continue to work on some back end blog details and I am learning as I go. My Guide to Saint Germain des Prés was recently updated. While I am typically a Right Bank lover, I have grown to also love the Left Bank.
For my upcoming trip, I am back on the Left Bank for a few nights and I am trying new hotels that I can’t wait to share with you. A budget friendly option and a splurge that I am trying for one night.
Weekend Reading: Links I Love
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. Grab your coffee and croissants and join me. We have a long weekend, I don’t blame you if your weekend reading spills over into Monday. Some of my favorites include:
Why you should put your phone down and day dream instead.
How fashion fell in love with fragrance.
Ideas on how to make friends as we get older. The secret to lasting friendships.
What I Did This Week:
I got BBL and Moxie skin laser treatment. This was my second time, the first time was right before our wedding and liked the results. The whole process lasted 90 minutes and the numbing gel worked great. Right now, my face is in the peeling and sandpaper stage as it flakes off. Truly not bad at all. I have this Avène spray and ordered this gentle cleanser and moisturizer to use for the next couple of weeks. Plus, always suncreen.
Cheered on the Hoosiers and Bears and cannot wait to do it again this weekend. I am an Indiana graduate and seeing the Hoosiers win in football has been so much fun.
We picked up our pieces at Framebridge last Sunday and our picture guy was over on Friday to hang everything. We had nine frames total and he was done in an hour. I need to write a full post on our favorite Framebridge frames and what and how I selected each one. Our home is really feeling pulled together now that we got our matching navy couch and hung some art.
For the large Eiffel Tower Paris Window, we used the Bowry frame.
When I was in Framebridge, we framed four more pieces. I can’t wait to pick them up soon. If you are in Chicago, we love the Southport location and Kelly is fabulous.
I applied to Old Town Art Fair for my photography. The show is June 13-14th. Art shows are juried and the applications are due early January for summer shows.
The Print Shop is sold out of The Printed Paris Guide. I am working on an updated version that will be out this spring. Stay tuned! You can always buy the digital version here.
Upcoming Event Schedule for Paris Every Day
Book events for Paris Every Day are starting to happen soon and then I have a total of five one after another.
Chicago: I will be at POSH on January 25th from 3pm-5pm signing books. This is the cutest Francophile gift shop. If you haven’t been, this is a perfect opportunity to visit.
Paris: I have a dream opportunity to host a party with Sézane. There are a few spots available for community members. If you are interested, you can fill out this form and reserve a spot!
Healdsburg: Together with Coppersfield books and Paula McClain at Little Saint. This event is ticketed and also limited tickets left. I have not been to this part of California and I am so excited to explore. Thank you to everyone that has sent me their list of favorites. I know I am going to love it here.
Cincinnati: I grew up going to Jospeh Beth Bookstore with my dad and when I saw they picked up Paris Every Day, I reached out asking to do an event. Luckily for me, they said, yes! This event will be March 7th at the Rookwood Pavillion store at 1pm.
A Valentine’s Day Edit
I think of Valentine’s Day as season like Christmas vs a one day Halmark holiday. It is what gets me through the grey days of January and early February in Chicago. I love the pink, red, and hearts on everything.
You can see and shop my edit here:
What I Bought This Week:
A few items from ME+EM. This pink Argyle vest. For warmer weather, this navy fit and flare dress. The cheesecloth styles always sell out quickly. This will be a great piece for Greece and travel well.
My Boden pink dress arrived and it is better than I imagined. I am thinking I will wear it to my California event since it is around Valentine’s Day.
I am off to Paris in a week, and the weather looks frigid. These Heat tech leggings and shirts will be essential. I am putting in an order today!
P.S. I found a code for AYR. I am not sure I am supposed to share. Keep this between you and me. OURTREAT20 gets you 20% off. Shop their best sellers here. I am also wearing their silk shirt and secret sauce jeans in this post if you want to see them styled.
Nadaam has a end of season sale. Stock up on sweaters, cashmere, and accessories. They just opened a store on Armitage in Chicago. I am looking forward to checking it out soon.

I’m a couple of hours to the east of you, in South Bend, and good golly, it felt like winter just crashed into us this week! It really has created some challenges, but it also gives me lots of excuses to hang out indoors with piles of reading material. Really looking forward to hearing about your Left Bank hotel experiences, I’ve stayed in several and am always collecting others for future trips.
Thank you for sharing your Saint Germain des Pres Guide. My husband and I are heading to Paris in May and staying at a “splurge” hotel in the Left Bank for our birthdays ☺️. This guide will come in handy. I look forward to you reporting back about your upcoming trip. ❤️
