Weekend Reading 44
Home updates, new brands I am loving, and what I ordered this week
I hope you are having a good weekend. Anyone else a bit more tired than usual with the sun setting early? I am ready to curl up with a good book or show in my pajamas early.
My husband and I spent the weekend in Wisconsin with family for the football game against Ohio State. We had beautiful weather and it was had a great time. I can’t wait to pick up Henri from the boarder and spend Sunday with him.
Weekend Reading is up on the blog! The French fridge haircut is taking over Parisian streets.
Last week, my friend Brooke was over to help with organizing and decluttering. She says one project leads to another, and leads to another. Brooke wasn’t joking. After she left, I continued with her homework and decluttered and made donation piles. It was a lot easier to let go of some things that didn’t have a place.
My new pieces arrived from Framebridge, and I hired TaskRabbit to hang them. Now I want to do a few more pieces horizontally and continue the frames up the stairs.
Last Sunday, my husband scored his first Facebook Marketplace find, an old drop-leaf table. We don’t have a ton of space for a table, and the drop leaf allows us to have the flexibility of extending it or leaving it folded down. Now he is on the hunt for chairs.
We have a few more ideas for updates in the room with the table. Our new couch, which we ordered from Interior Define, will come in next month. This will match the other one we have and allow us to have extra space to sit.
To top off the projects, we were battling a wasp nest that was leading to wasps in our windows and home the past couple of weeks. Successfully, we tracked down a guy who knew a guy and helped successfully solve the problem. If you need a picture hanger in Chicago or a pest control guy, I have added these to my contact list.
Holiday is Coming Soon
The tote bags you voted on, along with holiday notecards, are coming to the stop this week!
I have also been designing a holiday homepage for gift guides with my designers, and it looks so good! Francophile Ornaments are up on the blog, and Advent calendars are coming next. This includes a fun giveaway to support a local shop of mine. Stay tuned!
The official book launch for Paris Every Day is on October 28th. I will be at Slant of Light Books on November 2nd for coffee and croissants starting at 10 am. Henri and I will be there to chat and sign books!
What Caught My Eye This Week
I recently discovered the brand L’Agence. We are getting one in Chicago, opening in early November. I ordered a few pieces to try from the brand, and I am in love. These brown velvet pants fit like a dream, and these coated black pants and blouse may be my holiday uniform. The coated pants do run long and need to be taken to the dry cleaners to get hemmed. I can’t wait for the new store to open. It may be trouble!
For sizing help, I ordered a medium in the blouse based on their sizing guide and 28 in the pants.
These flax linen sheets are in my cart. My friend from Australia swears by them! (They are available now in the US.) I have been a hot sleeper, and I think they might help. Also, I love having this fan next to my bed.
I ordered this sweater in two colors, and yes, this is the perfect shade of green.
Credo Friends and Family is coming up. This Le Prunier cream is on my list to try. Take note to add your favorite brands to your cart.
Jenni Kayne is 20% off Fall Favorites. Loving this Thatcher cardigan.

A Few Kitchen Favorites
This was going to be two items, which turned into five, and this list continues to grow. My best ideas come when I am unplugged. Coffee in hand, cleaning the kitchen, I looked over and saw two things that are front and center in my kitchen that I am loving right now. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen as I am the one who is the clean freak and cook/baker out of my husband and me. Aside from his famous pizza nights.
Flamingo Estates Tomato Candle. (*gifted by the brand) We have a few candles circulating in the house, and especially in the fall/winter, we burn them on the weekends and listen to jazz music. This one smells so good. It is a splurge and makes a great gift.
Nespresso Frother. My brother-in-law gave this to me as a gift last Chanukkah, and it is used daily. For the summer months, the cold frother is essential. Now that we are going into hot drinks for fall, I use it for my matcha and warm milk for my coffee.
Evolve Together Hand Wash. Considering how often I wash my hands, especially in the kitchen, I should find a better spot to keep this. We have successfully moved through half of the glass bottle in record time. It is another splurge. The brand has a code for readers if you want to try it or even add it to your gift list. REBECCAP gets you 20% off.
Souper Cubes. Soup is a staple in our house. My mom taught me to always have some in the freezer. We use chicken stock for a lot of recipes. These cubes help freeze cup-sized portions that pop out easily. I initially bought a two-pack a few years ago, and one went missing. Now we have three sets, and I am not complaining. They stack easily in our freezer.
Koala Eco is a new, clean brand I discovered that offers home cleaning supplies. I picked up this cleansing spray to try out, and I love the citrus scent.
Paris Dog of the Day
This pup made it into the book and is on trend with a leopard harness.
