Weekend Reading 48
The show I binged this week and my Thanksgiving Day plans
I hope you are having a great weekend! It has been a full week and has continued through the weekend. I attended a virtual book event on Saturday and spent some time doing some much-needed self-care. Next week, I will be in Florida visiting family for Thanksgiving. My mom, sister, and I are planning out the menu and our cooking/baking strategy.
This recipe for madeleines is always a favorite, and I made them on Friday. You can add in fruit, lemon or orange zest, or chocolate chips to change the flavor. I love lemon, blueberry, and raspberry
Black Friday/Cyber Monday is happening earlier and earlier. As a small business owner, it is stressing me out. I am working on a post that will go live this week on ways to support small businesses during the holidays. Stay tuned! Plus, there are a few simple ways that are free and go a long way and take just a few minutes.
Thank you to everyone for your feedback on my note on what to do in The Print Shop for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. We are going to do a tote gift with purchase.
There is a lot of travel happening this month, and I am looking forward to a Sunday at home. I plan to catch up on some sleep and hopefully sneak in a nap with Henri.
Sunday Reading is up on the blog. Vintage kitchen items that are trendy again, why recommendations are the new status symbol (such an interesting read), and the show we binged over the weekend. Grab your coffee and croissants and join me on the blog.
Book NEWS!!
Many people have asked me about future book events. The next event will be in Chicago at Old Town Triangle on December 11. You can sign up here. The event is free, and registration helps count food and attendance.
In February, I will be in California for a book event with Paula McLain on February 7. You can get tickets here.
The complete list of book events is on the blog. If you can’t make it to an event and want a signed book, you can order one directly through me.
5 Early Sales Not to Miss
Frame denim is running a Sample Sale! I am loving the Slim Palazzo Pants and this blouse. Plus, my code is working in addition. REBECCA15
Margaux is 20% now. I love their flats and have them in multiple colors. They run true to size. My first Margaux Demi Flat I still wear was purchased five years ago!
Cuyana is starting its sale on November 24th. Add your favorites to your cart now. Items will sell out fast! Eyeing this cashmere scarf in burgundy.
Madewell is 40% off with code LETSGO. There are so many great pieces included: this brown suede bag, these jeans, green ballet flats, and this jacket. I linked everything here. Yulia and I shot this on Thursday.
Merit Beauty is running their annual sale starting Monday. Readers have early access to the sale with code EARLYSALE. I really love their complexion stick and have been using it for years. Bisque is my color. I highly recommend the blending brush. When my friend Abby was over earlier this week, we both grabbed our Merit slick shades for a quick application before heading out. I couldn’t help but laugh.
Discount Codes
LondonTown sent us a code for 20% off. REBECCA20 I am wearing Elderberry on my nails right now, and it's the perfect festive color. Three of my friends I saw this week all had on a similar color, and I couldn’t help but notice. I just ordered a few more colors, including a mocha brown that is way out of my comfort zone.
I am spending Thanksgiving with my family in Florida and looking forward to baking cookies and snuggling with the kids. They are growing up so fast! While I love a good glass of Sancerre or champagne in Paris, I don’t drink a lot when I am home. I found Ghia while out at one of our favorite pizza spots, and I have been hooked ever since. They are available locally in Chicago and online directly through their site. Ghia offered a 20% off code. I will be sending the Chili Sumac and Ginger to my sister’s house to enjoy. REBECCA25 gets you 25% off.

Loved today’s Weekly Reading! I had a good laugh at Why is everyone tying a scrap of fabric around their neck? Also, thank you for the side note on sales, it feels like it’s been a lot so far from every corner of the internet. I’m so appreciative of your curation ❤️
