Weekend Reading #6
California, puppies, and wine
Hello from California! It has been a whirlwind of a couple of weeks. Ironically, my word of the year is REST. I am in a bit of sleep debt, but all for a good reason. The second half of February should give me some downtime at home. I shared a bit of what is in store for 2026 and what I have been working on behind the scenes.
Sunday reading is up on the blog. I loved hearing how much you all enjoy the links I love. Thank you for your enthusiasm and encouragement. Some of my favorites include French handbag brands you may not have heard of that can elevate your outfit, 7 types of rest (from NPR), and why am I more creative when I fly?
I am in California for a book event with Paula McLain. When Coppersfield’s wrote to inquire about an event, I danced around the kitchen with Henri. It was an easy yes. Fast forward a few months, and here we are. I was so thrilled to meet California Everyday Parisian Readers. Chatting with Paula felt surreal. It was such a special event, and I hope Paula and I can collaborate on more in the future.
My husband joined me for the short weekend away, and we stayed at The Madrona for the weekend. Such a dreamy hotel in Healdsburg.
A blog reader put me in touch with the team at Canine Companions a few months ago, and my husband and I stopped by for a tour. I first learned about the organization from a Netflix documentary, and the rest was history. They train dogs to be service animals for children and adults in need. This includes health issues, hearing, Veterans, and so much more. We got to snuggle with the puppies and tour the campus.
Community Events for Everyday Parisian
One of my key goals when I wrote Paris Every Day was to host in-person events for other Francophiles, helping them find the community I was missing. I was very happy to see a new friendship form at the Sézane event, and Sonja and Shana sent me this photo.
Shana has a beautiful eye and a gift with color. Sonja created the map in Paris Every Day and is a talented artist.
What I am Eyeing and Buying
Currently in cart, this Alex Mill tote. I am just deciding on the color. Leaning towards the green.
Margaux launched a new series of flats, and I ordered the Pascal in chocolate brown. I sized up 0.5 sizes due to the elastic back, and I was concerned they would be tight on my feet. I love them! I packed them for my trip to California and my author talk. They are so incredibly comfortable, I forgot I had them on.
Our mattress is currently on sale for President’s Day from Helix. I have a code for 27% off! Use REBECCAP at checkout. We have the organic Birch one, and we are so happy with it. I convinced my dad to upgrade his 20-year-old mattress. The setup is so easy. They come rolled up in a box, and once you unpack them, they become a regular-size mattress. Check out all the different mattress options here.
The boots I wore for the Sézane event are on sale. They are an investment piece for your shoe wardrobe, but they are worth it if they fit your budget.
I spotted Elemis on sale at QVC. The cleansing balm is my favorite product, and this set offers a home and away.
I have been loving this lip balm and mask from Blue Lagoon. A new-to-me brand!
For a work tote, Oleada caught my eye recently. This brown tote and this bucket bag. REBECCAOL gets you 22% off

I noticed those shoes yesterday! But more than anything, I noticed your warmth and kindness. It was a delight to attend the event and to chat with you at lunch. You proved the point that dog people are the best people (I might be a little obsessed with your Henri).
❤️❤️ I so wish we could see one another more often, your presence is such a gift and your community is filled with so many warm and down to earth people. The event at Sézane truly was one I’ll always remember for your words and the connections many of us made. Thankful for your friendship and support! Cheering you on always!!
