Hi Everyday Parisian, I enjoyed reading your list of great finds in Paris! Here's what I bought in Paris in October and why I bought it:

I neglected to pack any kind of hat for the trip and the weather was chilly and windy with light rain. I asked a taxi driver to drop me off at a department store that sold women's coats and hats.

He delivered me to what used to be a department store turned into a collection of high-end boutique designer shops: Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg, Hermès, Chanel, Versace, etc. No way did I want to pay hundreds of dollars for a simple knit hat to ward off the cold and rain. That I could possibly lose during my time in Europe.

I left the boutique collection, stepped into the wind and drizzle, and looked up the block to see if a taxi was approaching to get me back to my hotel. But wait!

I spotted an H&M just across the street. Walked in and found what I needed in 1 minute: a black, knit cap for 10 USD. Perfect! Wore it every day for the remainder of my 2 weeks in France and Spain and brought it back home to a chilly fall season. It's my favorite winter hat this year. Glad I didn't lose it somewhere in Europe.
