This post was the best! I could actually feel the temps ease down as the light waned and the festive lights popped on. Thank you so much for this! A true treat and your writing is incredibly evocative. I felt like it was there!

I remember all the times I walked those streets and saw those sights like it was yesterday. I need to return one more time!

My friend and I enjoyed tea time at the Ritz when we were in Paris back in early July…it was fantastic!

Thanks for sharing your adventures…loved seeing how magical Paris is at this time of the year. 🙏🏻💕

I love to hear that! I did it in January, but I think I chose the wrong option and ended up in a different room with an experience that didn't wow me. Now I know which one to book!

Matthew and I took our son to Paris for Thanksgiving in 2021 and the city was fully decorated! We had our photographer friend take our portraits in Place Vendome and Place Royale. Despite the cold and gray it was a magical time! We also love the Ritz tea which feels incredibly special during the Christmas season! Your photos capture the intimate glow of Paris in December!

I’ve loved reading your Paris Diaries from your most recent trip! I was in Paris for my birthday over Thanksgiving and yup it gets dark and cold very early this time of year! I can imagine tough for photos but seems you get the best ones in early morning! I popped into the ritz for a drink on my final night - in all my years visiting Paris I’d never walked into the ritz before! I saw they had a tea service and had wished I’d booked it for my birthday but instead I had a champagne in that same area - after tea service ends at 6:30pm it turns into a champagne bar! So still got to experience the beauty of the tea room area. I never would have thought to do tea in Paris cause it’s what I always do in London. But have added tea at the ritz to my list for next visit to Paris. Hope you get to do it one day as well! Btw - did you notice the cafes no longer have heaters on the outdoor terraces ?? I was shocked by this. They still have but don’t turn them on. I asked at a cafe why that was and they told me it’s a new law that went into effect last year that prevents anyone from using heaters in unenclosed spaces! Some energy conservation thing. Such ashame for all the cafes cause it cuts into the amount of people they can service in winter as who would sit outside when it’s so cold?? I guess you did though which I can see why they were shocked by this lol!! I’m not into Xmas decor but love the photos you’ve shared from your trip there this December showing Paris decorated for Xmas. They do it so well - the least tacky I think. Well except LV and Dior - their decor was so odd and tacky! LV at Vendome looked naked this year with so little decor - it was odd. Almost like they forgot to finish putting up the decor lol. Apparently the law preventing outdoor heaters was also supposed to curb the use of Xmas lights. But clearly that’s been ignored!
