My grandma always used to ask for a postcard from wherever I traveled. It was her way of connecting with me while I was away. I constantly searched for the unique postcard that would make her smile.
This is a tradition I have kept with my niece and nephew. They are great travelers and have visited Europe several times already. I love sending postcards to my friends' kids, too, as a surprise to receive in the mail.
Who doesn’t love a little snail mail from Paris?
Postcards from Paris Giveaway for Paris Every Day Presale Orders
It may come as no surprise that Paris Every Day is dedicated to my grandma. She made a significant impact on my life and has always been my cheerleader. I think of her so often and miss her deeply.
This weekend, I'm heading to Paris to finalize the book copy and photos before we send the book off to the printer. Publishing a Paris coffee table book has been a dream of mine for the past 15 years, and I am thrilled that it is finally coming true this October.
I wanted to do something special for those of you who have supported me with placing a preorder copy of Paris Every Day. Twenty-five lucky individuals will receive a special postcard from Paris this May! My publishers will use a random number generator to select the names. You still have time to get your order in before I arrive on May 3rd.
You can always follow along on Instagram to see where I pick up postcards along the way. I have a few fun ideas for places to buy postcards in Paris.
Do you have any traditions for when you travel?
I, too, love writing postcards to loved ones back home while we travel! My daughter has now taken on this ritual and sends postcards to her friends and teachers.
One of the things we always search for are ornaments for our Christmas tree. We try to find unique ones that remind us of a special memory from our trip. Once home, I write the year of travel on the ornament, and it is so fun to unpack them year after year and reminisce!
When the day comes that my daughter will have her own family traditions, I plan on giving her the ones where she traveled so that she can tell the story of where she has been and what she did.
I love your blog and used your suggestions when my daughter and I went to Paris! Thank you and I am anxious for your coffee table book! You are a best friend I have never personally met! 🤗👏👏
